CAP Elevator is a family-owned elevator company, focused on all aspects of elevator and escalator service, repair, modernization, and new construction. We use a combination of industry experience, professional training, and technology to serve our clients throughout New Jersey and Eastern Pennsylvania.

We’re looking for a talented elevator mechanic who can work with our teams to modernize, repair, and maintain various types of vertical transportation equipment.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical components on traction and hydraulic elevators.
• Examine, clean, and adjust elevator components during normal maintenance routines.
• Perform 1-year and 5-year elevator inspections.
• Work with a team as required for modernization and installation of traction and hydraulic elevator equipment.
• Successfully complete modernizations and repairs in a professional and profitable manner.

Requirements

• At least 7 years experience in the elevator industry, may have less experience if experienced in a controls or related electrical field.
• Current IUEC union membership is a plus.
• NJ Elevator Mechanic License required.
• Must be able to read and interpret electrical and mechanical schematics.
• Understanding of both relay logic and microprocessor based control systems.
• Must be capable to meet the physical daily challenges of repairing and installing elevator equipment.
• Good problem solver, communicator, and self-starter.
• Aptitude in using various hand tools, power tools, and precision measurement tools.
• Clean and valid driver license.
