Property Claims Adjuster - Regional Insurance Carrier - Base Salary to 129k/year - Thousand Oaks, CA

• Our client, a well-established regional Property & Casualty insurance provider, is seeking a  Property Claims Adjuster to handle residential and commercial property claims.
• This is a field-based role responsible for the investigation, evaluation, and resolution of moderate to complex property claims , including structural damage, collapse, earth movement, and total losses.

Responsibilities:

• Investigate and manage residential and commercial property claims from first notice of loss through resolution
• Conduct on-site inspections of damaged properties, including roofs, attics, basements, and structural components
• Evaluate coverage and determine liability in accordance with policy language
• Prepare detailed repair and replacement estimates using Xactimate
• Handle complex claims involving structural damage, collapse, earth movement, and total losses
• Negotiate settlements with policyholders, contractors, and third parties
• Draft coverage determination letters, including reservation of rights and denial letters
• Maintain accurate claim documentation and ensure compliance with regulatory requirements
• Provide mentorship and technical guidance to less experienced adjusters
• Support leadership responsibilities in the absence of management

Requirements:

• 5+ years of field property claims adjusting experience handling residential and/or commercial losses
• Strong experience with coverage analysis, claim investigation, and settlement negotiation
• Advanced proficiency in Xactimate estimating software
• Experience handling moderate to complex property claims , including structural damage or total losses
• Ability to write coverage position letters, reservation of rights, and denial letters
• Strong understanding of property insurance policies and claims processes
