Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating automated grid manufacturing equipment used in the production of battery grids. This role ensures safe, efficient, and high-quality production by monitoring equipment performance, performing routine maintenance, eliminating defects, and supporting Lean Manufacturing initiatives. Operators work in a 12-hour rotating schedule within a highly automated industrial environment.

Responsibilities

• Operate automated PowerFrame® grid machinery, including presses, rolling mills, casting equipment, and lead pots.
• Monitor critical production parameters such as temperature, pressure, speed, flow, and material dimensions.
• Perform coil monitoring, change-overs, and material loading.
• Start, stop, and adjust machines to maintain production efficiency and product quality.
• Inspect finished grids for defects, surface flaws, and dimensional accuracy.
• Eliminate defective parts and follow escalation procedures when deviations occur.
• Use measuring tools and SPC (Statistical Process Control) methods to ensure conformance to specifications.
• Accurately document quality checks and production data.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• High mechanical aptitude.
• Ability to use basic mechanic's hand tools, thickness gauges, scales, etc.
• Willingness to work overtime.
• Open to both day and night shifts.
• Previous injection molding experience is a plus.

Work Environment

Candidates will be working in a lead environment, which requires respirators to be worn throughout the shift. Conditions can be hot, cold, dusty, and dirty, so candidates must be willing to work in all conditions.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of FLORENCE, KY.

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $25.00/hr.
